TEAMS IN CHANGE

As organisations constantly change and evolve, established  teams are subject to changes in structure, focus, leadership, values, priorities and so on – and often all of these will happen at the same time.

Increasingly, people are seconded to work in teams established to initiate and implement a transformational change, a programme or a project.

Teams in change face unique challenges. Depending on the size and scale of the change and the urgency with which it must be implemented teams may need help to maintain focus. Workloads may feel overwhelming, roles may be unclear, and priorities can conflict.

Team interventions can enable teams to prepare collectively for change and develop strategies to work effectively together.

We can work with you to design and run interventions to make sure change teams are set up for success. These can include:

  • Project management and change management training
  • Designing and facilitating kick off events for teams who will be working together in change
  • Agreeing ways of working and understand working styles and preferences
  • Designing change programmes to engage employees and embed new ways of working.
  • Facilitating interim or end of change Lessons Learnt reviews

PEOPLE IN TRANSITION

Following a career path and moving to increasingly influential positions inevitably involves moving through a number of transitions. While exciting, work and life transitions can also involve the need to prepare, plan and think about new approaches.

Individual transitions can involve a promotion, move to a new function, or taking on leadership of a significant organisational change. Transitions can also involve major life changes including returning to work after becoming a parent, moving to a new country, or exploring different working patterns.

A coaching relationship can provide invaluable support. It provides a confidential space to:

  • Think through and prioritise the challenges ahead
  • Plan strategies for key stakeholders
  • Plot out the first months to ensure a platform for success
  • Discuss team challenges and prepare for these
  • Share uncertainties and develop strategies to address these.

To support the coaching relationship, we have developed coaching tools which can be used with individuals and groups to enable clarity of thought and purpose.

YOUR BEST YOU

Research from areas as diverse as neuroscience and sports science, social and developmental psychology, show that an individual’s capacity to grow to their full potential depends not just on talent and ability but on a number of critical factors.

These can include:

  • Mindset – the way we think about our performance and react to these thoughts
  • Resilience – how we manage our energy and bounce back from setbacks
  • Impact – how we project ourselves for maximum effect
  • Confidence – genuine, authentic self-belief
  • Relationship management – especially in a complex organisational matrix
  • Lifestyle – and how this impacts the way we show up

Coaching can provide the space to identify key areas requiring attention and develop strategies to address these. We use coaching tools in one to one conversations and in workshops to help identify particular areas to focus on.
